KUWAIT, May 14 (Bernama) — Malaysia Airlines (MAS) will be operating twice-weekly non-stop flights between Kuwait and Kuala Lumpur for the July 1 to August 28 period this year.

Its regional general manager for the Middle East and South Africa, Merina Abu Tahir, said the annual ad-hoc service was to cater to the seasonal demand of summer holidaymakers from Kuwait.

“We have scheduled the flight timings to allow passengers maximum time to spend at their favourite holiday destinations while travelling with MAS,” Merina said when announcing the Kuwait-Kuala Lumpur-Kuwait flights at a press conference here yesterday.

“Passengers on these flights will enjoy Malaysian hospitality from the time they commence their journey and will experience the inflight service by the world’s best cabin staff,” she said.

The flights will use the 294-seater Airbus A330-300 aircraft on Tuesday and Thursday.

“Flight MH 7091 will depart Kuwait at 1725 hours on both days to arrive Kuala Lumpur the next day at 0655 hours, while the inbound flights depart Kuala Lumpur at 1310 hours on Tuesday and Thursday to arrive Kuwait at 1610 hours the same day,” Merina said.

She also said that the airline has appointed Jumbo Global Aviation to market the yearly ad-hoc flights between Kuwait and Malaysia.

The airfares start from 200 Kuwait dinar (RM2,420.75) for an economy class seat.

MAS currently operates seven times a week between Dubai and Kuala Lumpur. In addition, it operates three times a week between Dubai and Beirut as well as two times between Dubai and Karachi.
