Swine Flu screening begins at Dubai airport

Dubai Airports has tightened screening for Swine Flu by installing thermal imaging cameras in Arrivals.

In a statement, the owner/operator of Dubai International Airport said it was working closely with the Department of Health to prevent the entry of Swine Flu, or H1N1 influenza, as it is also known.

The thermal imaging cameras are screening passengers arriving from affected areas and airlines are informing passengers onboard aircraft of the screening at the airport.

“Expert medical care will be available at hand if required,” said an airport spokesperson.

“If any suspected cases are identified, they will be transported to Airport Medical Centre for further tests and handled accordingly,” the spokesperson added.
